Temple Toile Wallpaper

Bold, delicate and delicious that's how we would describe the bespoke collection of fabrics and wall-coverings that celebrate our collaboration with Castle Howard.

Temple Toile is part of the new Castle Howard Indienne Collection and features a drawn toile design of joyful chinoiserie scenes set amongst potted plants and lush vegetation. The Temple Toile is characteristic of the oriental narrative motifs specific to chinoiseries printed in monochrome. Each scene is delineated by a rocky base, a device that gives the design as a whole the appearance of floating on air.  

Romantic and whimsical the Temple Toile has been created in 6 different colours, reminiscent of the palette of the seventeenth century printed and painted cottons from India which first appeared in France during that period.
