Holbein

With a host of royal patrons, the Holbein design first featured as the backdrop in 'The Baptism of Louis XIV', one of a series of tapestries designed by Le Burn and woven by the Goblanc ateliers in 1630. Being redrawn by G.F. Bodley in 1890, the pattern has been used in Ham House and Windsor Castle. Holbein's regal non-directional tangle of lush foliage remains alluring and is particular useful for small rooms.
