Oudry Fontenay aux Roses

The influence of wallpaper and its used in the 18th century interiors was powerful enough to provoke occasional mimicry from the tapestry-weaving industry. The Oudry is a good example : when weaving a large panel, the main scene are supplanted by several trompe-l’oeil imitations of paintings.
